Beachhouse retreat
Interior Design
A confidential private commission on the Southern California coast, twelve months in the making. The brief centred on a single idea: a home that feels like a exhale. White-painted timber columns, wraparound verandas, and a considered indoor-outdoor flow draw from classic coastal architecture while staying firmly contemporary in execution. The result is a residence that wears its setting lightly — open, relaxed, and entirely at ease with the Pacific a short walk away.

Interior Living
Inside, the palette follows the coast — whites, naturals, and the green of planting brought deliberately through the full-height glazing. Double-volume ceilings amplify the light, while relaxed furniture arrangements and open sightlines make the interior feel continuous with the garden beyond. Nothing is overdressed.
Exterior & Facade
The exterior leads with a double-height veranda framed by white painted columns — a gesture that is equal parts architectural and practical, providing shade, depth, and a transition zone between inside and out. The symmetry is deliberate, giving the house a composed presence from the street without tipping into formality.

Outdoor Entertaining
A timber-decked terrace extends the living space outward, with a dining area and kitchen positioned for year-round use. The deck wraps a plunge pool framed by lush tropical planting — private, shaded, and designed to be used daily rather than saved for guests.
